Diego Diaz Named TCL Player of the Week

The Texas Collegiate League has announced Diego Diaz of the Victoria Generals as the Player of the Week, recognizing his outstanding all-around performance at the plate and on the basepaths.

Diaz put together one of the most dynamic weeks of the TCL season, slashing .467/.652/.867 across multiple games and igniting the Generals' offense from start to finish. His ability to get on base, drive in runs, and create chaos on the basepaths made him a constant threat to opposing teams.

Over the week, Diaz tallied:

  • 7 runs scored

  • 1 double, 1 triple, and 1 home run

  • 6 RBIs, showing his ability to produce in clutch situations

  • 7 walks and 1 hit-by-pitch, boosting his elite on-base percentage

  • 9 stolen bases, wreaking havoc and keeping pressure on defenses

Diaz’s combination of speed, power, and plate discipline was unmatched this week. His efforts were a key factor in Victoria’s strong stretch of games and a testament to his all-around skill set.

With this performance, Diaz has firmly established himself as one of the TCL’s most dangerous offensive players as the season heads into its final weeks.
