TEXAS COLLEGIATE LEAGUE ADDS ABILENE FLYING BISON AND SHERMAN SHADOWCATS FOR 2026 SEASON
Bryan, TX — The Texas Collegiate League (TCL) is proud to announce the addition of two new franchises for the 2026 season: the Abilene Flying Bison and the Sherman Shadowcats. The expansion marks another exciting step in the continued growth of the TCL, which remains one of the premier summer collegiate baseball leagues in the country.
The Flying Bison will bring TCL baseball to the city of Abilene for the first time, while the Shadowcats expand the league’s footprint into the fast-growing North Texas region. Both organizations are committed to providing high-quality summer baseball experiences for players and fans alike.
“The Texas Collegiate League continues to grow because of the passion and support of our communities and ownership groups,” said TCL Commissioner John Wilson. “Adding Abilene and Sherman strengthens our league geographically and competitively, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome these organizations into the TCL family.”

The addition of these two teams brings the TCL to 8 total franchises for the 2026 season. Both the Abilene Flying Bison and Sherman Shadowcats will begin play in June 2026, joining returning teams from across Texas and Louisiana for another exciting summer of collegiate baseball.
