BOMBERS & OUTLAWS SPLIT, ROUGHNECKS STAY ON TOP

More rain moved into North Texas and got the best of the home games at McKinney and Coppell.  Brazos Valley and Denton got some games in as they split a double header.  Wichita Falls held there territory in the Hornsby division with a win over Weatherford.

The Outlaws hosted a doubleheader against the Brazos Valley Bombers in Denton on Sunday evening and earned a split with a 10-1 victory in game one and a 2-1 loss in game 2.  The Outlaws scored 10 runs to support a superb performance by Mike Ojala, who threw 6 innings, yielding only one run before handing the ball over to Michael Wild for the 7th inning.  All Outlaws had a hand in scoring the 10 runs, capped by an 8-run 2nd inning.  Eric Oliver drove in three runs and went 3-for-4 on the night.  Trevor Harden had a solid outing in Game 2, but the Outlaws were only able to score a single run in his support, being shut down by Brazos Valley's Clint Helms, Evan Cox, and Tyler Davis.  The only run came on an RBI single by Heath Pugh.  Bombers' Ryan Weber drove in a run to tie the game in the second inning.  Jess Buenger scored the eventual winning run in the third when Will Basom drove him home with an RBI triple.

WICHITA FALLS 5, WEATHERFORD 3
Brett Holland weaved a gem while Chris Richburg and Will Breslin provided the fireworks to lead the Wichita Falls Roughnecks to a 5-2 win over the Weatherford Wranglers Sunday night at Hoskins Field.Holland struck out seven while allowing a pair of runs - one earned - and three hits to improve to 2-3 on the season.Richburg drove in two runs while going 3-for-4 with a triple and his third home run, while Breslin came on in the seventh inning to launch his first long ball of the year with a towering blast over the center-field wall.Caleb Shofner supplied the Wranglers with two of the their three hits.  The Rogers Hornsby Division leading Roughnecks improved to 20-12, while Weatherford fell to 15-17.
