HOME RUNS PROPEL OUTLAWS OVER WRANGLERS

In a night with just two games in the TCL, Jose Hernandez jacked two home runs to get the Outlaws another one in the win column.

DENTON 10, WEATHERFORD 5
Powered by three home runs, the Denton Outlaws beat the Weatherford Wranglers Monday night at Falcon Field, 10-5.  Outlaws left fielder, Jose Hernandez, hit two run homers in the fifth and sixth innings.  Hernandez finished the day 3-5 with five RBIs.   Denton thrid baseman, Tyler Warmerdam, hit his first home run of the season in the sixth as well, part of a five run inning for the Outlaws. Two Texas Longhorn pitchers went the first eight innings for Denton, starter Alex Posey who picked up his first victory of the season and Juston Street who pitched two and two thirds scoreless relief.

MINERAL WELLS 3, BRAZOS VALLEY 1
Taylor Rogers and Tyson Bagley combined for a three-hitter and Kurt Waid delivered late with an extra-base hit to propel the Mineral Wells Steam to a 3-1 victory over the Brazos Valley Bombers Monday night at Pratt Field.  Rogers pitched seven stellar innings and gave up just an unearned run in his fifth start of the summer. For the evening, Rogers fanned eight batters and walked four before giving way to Bagley in the eighth.  Bagley, the winning pitcher, struck out three and walked one in two innings pitched. He worked his way out of a jam in the top of the ninth as he was able to get Joseph Towns to ground out with runners at second and third to end the game.  With the score tied at one entering the bottom of the eighth, Dallas Tarleton drew a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Ryan Goins. Waid proceeded to hit a triple in to deep left center over the head of Keith Stein, scoring Tarleton. As Waid slid into third, the throw was wild from the cut-off man and went into the Bombers’ dugout, allowing Waid to come home safely.  Bo Coffman had a productive night at the plate for Mineral Wells as he went three-for-five with a double. The Steam had nine hits total compared to just three for the Bombers.
