DEPUTIES STAY HOT, MCKINNEY DEALS A SHUTOUTIt was a night of pitching duels as Duncanville and McKinney shut out their opponent. Duncanville continued their hot streak winning their fourth consecutive game to improve to 4-5. Current D-Bat Pitcher of the week Justin Murray from McKinney continued his pitching dominance as he went six innings and gave up zero runs and struck out six. DUNCANVILLE 1, COLLEYVILLE 0 The Duncanville Deputies pitching combined for a three hit shut-out of the Colleyville Lonestars. The lone run was scored in the 7th inning when Dominic Tognietti doubled then one batter later Trey Presswood doubled and brought him in which proved to be the winning run. MCKINNEY 6, ROUGHNECKS 0 Justin Murray pitched a strong six innings for the McKinney Marshals collecting six strikeouts while allowing no walks or runs. Brett Nommensen got the scoring started in the fourth with his 2nd home run of the season the Marshals got another run with the help of a wild pitch. The Marshals got two runs a piece in the fifth and sixth to take a 6-0 lead. Wichita Falls did not help matters as they committed 4 errors during the game. The win takes Justin Murray to 2-0 and the loss goes to Tyler Lyons 0-1. DENTON 3, MINERAL WELLS 2 Thomas Field executed a successful squeeze play in the bottom of the tenth inning to get the Denton Outlaws their fifth win of the season. Tyler Ladendorf singled through the left side off Steam reliever Brandon Moore then proceeded to steal second and advance to third a Tyler Warmerdam sac bunt. Steam starter Chris McMullen took a perfect game into the sixth inning but the Outlaws sparked their offense late to come up with the victory. COPPELL 6, WEATHERFORD 5 Coppell's starting pitcher, Tim Matthews, earned his second win of the season tonight as he pitched 4 and 2/3 innings, allowing four earned-runs over seven hits, while sticking out five. Coppell's Travis Tucker went yard for his second time this season with a solo shot in the fourth inning giving Coppell an early 5-3 lead. Weatherford's Joey Butler and Dillon Guillory had two RBI for the night.Coppell's Pat McCrory earned his first save of the year by sealing the deal for a 6-5 Copperheads victory. |
