Community College outfielder Kai Kirby (Denton Outlaws) has been named NJCAA Division I Baseball Player of the Week for the week ending April 8.
Kirby, a 6-0 outfielder from Chickasha, Okla., led the Seward County Saints to a 3-1 week with three multi-hit games, including a three-hit performance against
Cloud
County
Community
College on April 1 and two two-hit performances on the road against
Hutchinson
Community College on April 7.
For the week he went 8-for-16 (.500) from the plate with two doubles, four RBIs, three runs scored and two stolen bases. Kirby has nine multi-hit games this season and is batting .318 with 29 runs scored, six doubles, two triples, 12 RBI and is a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen base attempts.
This summer, Kirby is signed to play with TCL's defending Rogers Hornsby division champion Denton Outlaws for the 2007 season.
