Twins Fall to MarshalsTexarkana, TX – July 18, 2018 – The Texarkana Twins couldn’t get runs on the board giving the Texas Marshals the win. The Twins will seek redemption July 19th against the Marshals as their record for the season is now 14-27. The Twins were playing well until running into trouble in the 4th inning. Texas Marshals put one earned run on the board in the 3rd inning, then in the 4th when starting pitcher, Tyler Jeans, walked three and hit three Marshal batters. In addition, there was an error in the field that cost the team big. All together giving up 7 free passes allowing the Marshals to score 4 and bring their lead after the 4th to 5-0. During the 4th inning the Twins didn’t give up a single hit, yet the Marshals still managed to score 4. The Marshals fell silent until the 9th when they scored 2 more runs giving us a final score of 7-0. The Twins were silent throughout all nine innings, with the exception of Gunner Halter who managed to get a couple hits on the night. Avery George and Hunter Southerland hit one single apiece. Overall, the Twins did not perform very well at the plate. Twins starting pitcher Tyler Jeans ran into trouble in the 4th when he gave up several bases. Relief pitchers Foster Pace, Jesus Gamez, and Dylan Ditzenberger took over pitching duties for the rest of the game. Pace performed very well for two innings getting three strikeouts in a row, five throughout the two innings. The Twins will finish this short two game series against the Marshals tomorrow July 19th. They will then take a two-day break before heading back to Victoria to face the Generals in a two-game series.
