TEXAS COLLEGIATE LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME SET FOR MONDAY, JULY 11The 2005 Brookshires McCormick Texas Collegiate League All-Star Game will take place on Monday, July 11 at 7:05 p.m. in McKinney, Texas.
The matchup of the top 26 players each from the Rogers Hornsby and Tris Speaker Divisions will be played at Gabe Nesbitt Field, home of the McKinney Marshals. The TCL All-Star Game will be televised live throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana on Fox Sports Net Southwest and will be carried nationally on Fox College Sports. The game will also be broadcast locally by Millennium Sports on KDKR 91.3/97.5/90.5 FM. Announcers for the TCL All-Star telecast will be the Texas Rangers networks Scott Franzke handling play-by-play and former major league pitcher Steve Busby providing the analysis. Lesley Floyd of the leagues weekly FSN show, TCL Baseball Magazine, will be the roving field reporter. On the radio side, John Liddle and Jerry Ruyle will be calling the game with John Frow handling the field duties. Title sponsor for the TCL All-Star Game is Brookshires McCormick. The City of McKinney is also serving as a game sponsor. Gabe Nesbitt Field is located at The Ballfields at Craig Ranch, a 75-acre state-of-the-art facility that includes 14 baseball and softball fields. The facility is located just off Highway 121 approximately three miles north of Highway 75. The gates at Gabe Nesbitt Field will open at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The TCL Home Run Derby takes place at 6:15 p.m. A giant fireworks show follows the game. All fans attending the game receive a commemorative All-Star Pin, compliments of Brookshires McCormick, and the latest copy of Baseball America. Tickets for the Brookshires McCormick TCL All-Star Game are priced at $12.00 each and can be purchased on the day of the game or in advance by calling the McKinney Marshals ticket office at 972-747-9374. Parking is free. ALL-STAR ROSTER CHANGE: Outfielder Matt Berezay of the Highland Park Blue Sox and the University of the Pacific has been added to the Tris Speaker Division All-Star roster. Berezay takes the spot of Highland Park infielder Ryan Hill, who had a previously planned family commitment. |
