The Texas Collegiate League announced today the complete rosters and starters for the 2005 Brookshire’s McCormick All-Star Game, which will take place next Monday, July 11 at Gabe Nesbitt Field in McKinney.

The Weatherford Wranglers have a high of nine All-Stars on the Rogers Hornsby Division roster with the Denton Outlaws having seven representatives on the 26-man team. The Graham Roughnecks and Mineral Wells Steam each have five All-Stars.

On the Tris Speaker Division roster, the Coppell Copperheads and host McKinney Marshals each have eight representatives. The Euless LoneStars and Highland Park Blue Sox will have five All-Stars apiece.

The starting lineups for the two Divisions are as follows:
1B-Chris Tapia, Graham 1B-Tyler Hill, Coppell
2B-Parker Dalton, Mineral Wells 2B-Matt Cavagnaro, McKinney
3B-Brian Spear, Denton 3B-Justin Baum, Coppell
SS-Phillip Stringer, Denton SS-Stan Widmann, Euless
OF-Clay Britton, Weatherford OF-Louie Alamia, McKinney
OF-Spencer Jackson, Weatherford OF-John Infante, Coppell
OF-Kyle Jones, Denton OF-Tyler Jones, Highland Park
C-Clint Arnold, Weatherford C-Adam Moore, Coppell

The rosters and starting lineups for each division were selected by the head coaches in that respective division. The starting designated hitters and pitchers will be chosen by the All-Star Head Coaches, who will come from the team with the best record in each division through games of July 10.

The Brookshire’s McCormick All-Star Game begins at 7:05 p.m. and will be televised by Fox Sports Net Southwest. There will be a pre-game Home Run Derby and a post-game Fireworks Show. For tickets and more information, please call the McKinney Marshals at 972-747-9374.

TCL JUNE AWARD WINNERS: Infielder Ben Burum of the Mineral Wells Steam has been selected as the D-Bat TCL Player of the Month for June. Burum, a sophomore at North Central Texas College, batted .316 (25-79) with a league best seven doubles, five homers, and 18 rbi in 20 games for the Steam in June. The D-Bat TCL Pitcher of the Month is lefthander Branden Knapp of the Coppell Copperheads. Knapp, a junior from North Carolina State University, was 3-0, 0.00 in his five appearances, allowing just 11 hits and four unearned runs in 22.1 innings of work.

TCL WEEKLY AWARDS: Outfielder Keanon Simon of the Graham Roughnecks is the TCL D-Bat Player of the Week for June 27-July 3. The sophomore from Oklahoma State batted .500 (16-32) with a homer, nine rbi, 11 runs scored, and four stolen bases in six games. The D-Bat Pitcher of the Week is righthander Chance Corgan of the Euless LoneStars. The freshman from Texas A&M allowed five hits and two runs with a league record 13 strikeouts in 8.2 innings on July 2 versus Weatherford. He left with a 2-1 lead but received no decision in Euless’ 4-3 win in 13 innings.

FIRST RAINOUT: The TCL’s first rainout of the summer occurred on Monday night, when the Highland Park at Graham game was suspended in the second inning…The league had gone 104 games without a postponement in 2005. That’s compared to a very wet 2004, when 31 of the first 84 scheduled games were postponed.
