EULESS ERASES FOUR-RUN DEFICIT TO BEAT HIGHLAND PARK![]() Highland Park led, 5-1, in the sixth after Jarod Freemans two-run double. However, two errors led to three unearned runs as the LoneStars scored four times in the sixth to tie the game. Isaias Garcias RBI single capped the rally. Chance Corgan got the victory with two innings of shutout relief work for Euless (2-1). Casey Bond homered in the bottom of the ninth to pull the Blue Sox within a run. But Kyle Young got a game-ending groundout with the tying run on first base to earn the save. Highland Park (0-3) stranded 11 runners. Coppell 7, McKinney 3: At Gabe Nesbitt Field in McKinney, Adam Moore, Steven Spaugh and Kyle Kreick had three hits apiece as Coppell soured McKinneys home opener. Moore homered and drove in two runs. John Infante added a pair of hits to Coppells 12-hit attack. Jacob Ramos was dominant on the mound, allowing only one hit and striking out seven in six innings. Coppell (3-0), the leagues only unbeaten team, ran out to a 6-0 cushion through six innings. Matt Cavagnaro and John Weisman had RBIs for McKinney (1-2). Mineral Wells 8, Weatherford 6: At Roger Williams Park in Weatherford, Jay Brossmans run-scoring single and Parker Daltons RBI groundout gave Mineral Wells the lead in the sixth inning as the Steam snapped a three-game losing streak. Brossman and Mike Mogard both finished 3-for-5. Winning pitcher Brett Lester, James Oliver, Cory Gearrin and Wesley Dorsett, who got the save, shut out Weatherford the final four innings. Weatherford (3-2), which had its three-game win streak snapped, drew nine walks and had 12 hits, but stranded 15 runners. Clay Britton, Joe Newman, Michael Harkins and Ryan Baker all had multiple hits for the Wranglers. Graham 10, Denton 8: Graham spoiled the first home game in Denton franchise history behind Dustin Martins big night at The Ballpark on Bonnie Brae in Denton. Martin went 3-for-4 with a triple and a home run. Brandon Lance added a key two-run homer in the sixth. Roy Merritt pitched the final 2 2/3 innings without allowing a run to pick up the save. Graham (2-1) won despite six errors. Denton dropped to 1-2. |
