MARSHALS, COPPERHEADS SWEEP INTO THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Coppell and the McKinney sweep through the TCL Divisional series and head into the Championship match-up which begins on Friday.  The night was filled with critical home runs hit by Coppell's Brandon Belt and McKinney 's Derek Wiley and Dustin Hood.  McKinney won their sixth straight playoff game including the undefeated run during the 2006 playoffs.  The Copperheads will own home field advantage during the Championship series due having a better regular season record than the Marshals.

HORNSBY DIVISION
MCKINNEY 5, WICHITA FALLS 3
The Marshals head to their second consecutive TCL Championship series and have the chance to defend their title after sweeping the Wichita Falls Roughnecks in the Hornsby divisional series.  McKinney topped the Roughnecks 5-3 on Tuesday night due to an amazing night from Marshals shortstop Dustin Hood who went 3-for-3 with the game-winning home run in the bottom of the 7th.  Brandon Glover, who had the game-winning RBI in game one, added an insurance run with an RBI double scoring Myrio Richard.  That was all the Marshals would need as Mike Lee shut down Wichita Falls after coming in relief for starter Michael Johnson.   Lee earned the win after pitching 3.1 innings of scoreless ball only allowing one hit and striking out four.  Will Breslin was the bright spot for the Roughnecks going 1-for-3 with two RBI that put the Roughnecks in the lead in the top of the sixth.  Derek Wiley also homered for the Marshals, which makes his second round-tripper of the post-season.

SPEAKER DIVISION
COPPELL 4, BRAZOS VALLEY 0
Coppell's pitching staff shut out the Bombers' bats and defeated Brazos Valley 4-0 in front of a crowd of over 1,200 baseball fans.  The Copperheads sealed a TCL Championship berth with the win over the Bombers and will continue the quest for their second TCL title.  The current D-Bat Player of the week, Brandon Belt, jacked a two-run shot in the sixth inning to add to the Copperhead lead.  Belt went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the game.  Coppell starter Mike Bolsinger went 5.1 innings giving up no runs on five hits and five strikeouts.  His counterpart, John Touchton had a good outing despite the loss going six innings only allowing four hits and six strikeouts.
