Bryan/College Station, TX - August 3, 2020 - The Texas Collegiate League has announced Dan Pruitt of the Frisco RoughRiders and Matt Merrill of the Tulsa Drillers as the TCL North players of the week for the fifth and final week of the regular season. 

Pruitt, a Dallas Baptist junior, helped the RoughRiders finish on an eight-game win streak to finish the season. He batted .429 in the final week of the season with nine RBI’s and two home runs. He went 3-5 in the first game of the series against Texarkana with four RBI’s and a home run. He finished the season .313 with 17 RBI’s. 

Merrill, a right-hander from the University of Science and Arts, pitched five scoreless innings with just two hits allowed against Tulsa on Saturday. He stuck out 11 of the 20 batters he faced and walked just one. His ERA for the regular season finished at 0.71 as he and the rest of the Drillers head into the North Division playoffs.
