TCL Daily Recap: Generals Stay Hot, River Monsters Hold Off Shadowcats
The Victoria Generals continued their strong start to the 2026 Texas Collegiate League season with a dominant 20-0 victory over the Brazos Valley Bombers on Wednesday night.
Victoria capitalized on 10 walks, multiple hit batters, and three Bombers errors while scoring in five different innings. Austin Marlin led the offense with three RBIs, while Jeter Battles and Caden Callaway each drove in three runs. On the mound, Tripp Green and Aiden Sanchez combined for a seven-hit shutout, striking out 14 batters.
In San Antonio, the River Monsters improved to 2-0 with an 8-6 win over the Sherman Shadowcats.
San Antonio collected 13 hits, led by Jorge De Los Santos, who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Logan Pruski added three RBIs. The Shadowcats battled back with six runs and drew 12 walks, but the River Monsters bullpen shut the door late. Patrick Zaino recorded two hits and an RBI for Sherman, while Ryan Sessions reached base five times.
Elsewhere around the league, weather impacted the schedule as the games between the Abilene Flying Bisons and Lake Charles Gumbeaux Gators at Joe Miller Ballpark and the Baton Rouge Rougarou and Acadiana Cane Cutters at Fabacher Field were postponed due to rain.
With the victories, Victoria and San Antonio remain unbeaten as the early TCL season begins to take shape.
