Game Day Recap June 18th, 2026

A dramatic walk-off in Baton Rouge, a pitching clinic in Victoria, and a late offensive explosion in Bryan highlighted Thursday night's Texas Collegiate League action.

Rougarou Walk Off Flying Bison, 6-5

The Baton Rouge Rougarou improved to 7-7 with a thrilling 6-5 walk-off victory over the Abilene Flying Bison.

Abilene erased a 5-2 deficit with a two-run eighth inning and tied the game in the ninth, but Baton Rouge answered in the bottom half. After loading the bases, Jesse Lord drew a game-winning walk to force home the winning run.

Ty Simonelli paced the Rougarou offense with two hits, including a triple, while Dylan Champagne added two hits and an RBI. John Wade earned the win in relief.

The Flying Bison were led by Trey Smith and Davis Rivers, who each collected two hits. Ashton Hartwig and Wyatt Fielding drove in two runs apiece in the losing effort.

Cane Cutters Hold Off Gumbeaux Gators, 4-2

Acadiana struck early and never looked back, defeating Lake Charles 4-2 behind a first-inning grand slam from Cooper Markle.

Markle's blast accounted for all four Cane Cutters runs as Acadiana managed just four hits but capitalized on early opportunities. Christian Hallmark reached base three times and scored a run.

Lake Charles out-hit Acadiana 6-4 and drew seven walks but stranded multiple scoring opportunities. Kasen Bellard and Brandon Levy each drove in a run for the Gumbeaux Gators.

The Acadiana bullpen combined for 5.1 innings of one-run baseball to secure the victory.

Generals Blank Shadowcats, 4-0

The Victoria Generals rode three home runs and dominant pitching to a 4-0 shutout over the Sherman Shadowcats.

Jeter Battles opened the scoring with a solo homer in the first inning before Diego Alfonso launched a two-run shot and Asa Sampson added a solo blast as Victoria built a four-run cushion.

The Generals pitching staff was outstanding. Alex Renfrow tossed five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts, while Ryan Dugas and Jackson Ambrose combined to finish the four-hit shutout.

Sherman managed just four hits and struck out 13 times. Camden Babcock, Tanner Trout, Mason Priest, and Kolten Fawbush accounted for the Shadowcats' hits.

River Monsters Erupt Late to Defeat Bombers, 15-5

The San Antonio River Monsters broke open a close game with a nine-run ninth inning to cruise past the Brazos Valley Bombers, 15-5.

San Antonio scored six runs in the fourth inning to take control before delivering the knockout blow in the final frame. Angel Martinez led the offensive onslaught, going 3-for-6 with four RBIs. Bruno Robles added three extra-base hits and two RBIs, while David DeHoyos collected three hits and scored twice.

The Bombers remained within striking distance thanks to RBIs from Lucas Dunn, Tobias Motley, Damian Montanez, and Joey Duran, but San Antonio's offense proved too much to overcome.

Brian Buchanan earned the victory with three scoreless innings of relief for the River Monsters.
