Game Day Recap June 11th, 2026

The bats were alive across the Texas Collegiate League on Thursday night as teams combined for 57 runs in four games, highlighted by an offensive explosion from Abilene and another impressive victory by the red-hot Victoria Generals.

Victoria Generals 8, Baton Rouge Rougarou 3

The Victoria Generals continued their strong start to the season, improving to 6-3 with an 8-3 road victory over Baton Rouge.

After trailing 3-1 early, Victoria erupted for four runs in the sixth inning to seize control before adding three insurance runs in the ninth. Diego Alfonso paced the offense with three hits and an RBI, while Asa Sampson scored twice and drove in two runs. Jeter Battles added two hits and scored twice.

The Generals bullpen was outstanding after Baton Rouge's three-run third inning. Bryce Robinson earned the win with 2.2 scoreless innings while Ryan Dugas, Nolan Yeager, and Asa Sampson combined to shut down the Rougarou over the final four frames.

Baton Rouge managed six hits, led by Josh Lim, Trip Dobson, and Dylan Champagne, but stranded eight runners.

Acadiana Cane Cutters 4, Lake Charles Gumbeaux Gators 3

Acadiana rallied late to edge Lake Charles and improve to 5-3 on the season.

The Gumbeaux Gators received a solo homer from Jaxon Landreneau and carried a 3-2 lead into the eighth inning. However, the Cane Cutters responded with a two-run rally highlighted by a clutch two-run double from Connor Stelly that proved to be the game-winner.

Aidan Eshelman collected two hits while Luke Renfrow added two hits and an RBI for Acadiana.

On the mound, Bryson Smith tossed five innings of no-hit baseball before Lake Charles broke through. J.B. Landrum closed the door in the ninth to earn the save.

Lake Charles was held without a walk and struck out ten times despite getting hits from seven different players.

San Antonio River Monsters 5, Brazos Valley Bombers 4

The River Monsters pulled off one of the most unusual wins of the season, scoring five runs on just one hit to defeat Brazos Valley 5-4.

San Antonio took advantage of four hit batters, five walks, three Bombers errors, and three wild pitches to manufacture enough offense despite being limited to a lone hit by Carlos Chavez.

A four-run second inning provided the foundation for the victory. Roman Trinidad drove in the River Monsters' only official RBI of the night.

After Brazos Valley rallied for three runs in the fifth, the River Monsters bullpen slammed the door. Rowin Donaldson delivered 3.1 scoreless innings of relief before Brian Buchanan recorded the final two outs to secure the win.

For the Bombers, Damian Montanez collected three hits and two RBIs while Jake Barron added two hits.

Abilene Flying Bison 24, Sherman Shadowcats 6

The Abilene Flying Bison put together the most explosive offensive performance of the young TCL season, hammering Sherman 24-6.

Abilene scored in seven different innings and piled up 17 hits while drawing 13 walks. The Flying Bison launched four home runs and posted crooked numbers in the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings.

Phoenix Meza had a monster night, going 3-for-6 with a home run, double, four RBIs, and five runs scored. Briggs Roe blasted a homer and drove in five runs, while Davis Rivers added a home run and four RBIs. Trey Smith also homered and drove in three.

The Flying Bison led 20-6 after five innings and never looked back.

Sherman jumped out to an early 6-0 lead but could not contain the Abilene offense. Easton Ford drove in three runs for the Shadowcats in the loss.
