River Monsters Explode for 16 Runs to Top Cane Cutters
In a high-scoring affair in Seguin, the River Monsters erupted for 16 runs on 12 hits to take down the Cane Cutters, 16-7. Bacon led the offensive charge with three hits, three runs, and an RBI, while Boswell drove in two and reached base three times. Peterson chipped in with a three-hit night and also swiped two bases.
Seguin put up a seven-spot in the first inning and followed it up with another seven-run fifth to put the game out of reach. Vaughn, Chavez, and Villalobos each added RBIs to support the offensive onslaught. On the mound, Greenlee picked up the win in relief, tossing four innings and allowing just one earned run. Shaw earned the save with four strong frames of his own.
Acadiana was led by Gwyn, who doubled and drove in three. Harrison went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, while Marshall also added a two-bagger and an RBI. However, Cane Cutters pitching struggled, issuing 10 walks and hitting five batters, including a rough 0.1-inning start from Castaneda, who allowed six runs (five earned).
Rougarou Walk It Off in Extras Over Generals
In Baton Rouge, the Rougarou walked it off in the 10th to edge the Generals, 9-8, in a back-and-forth thriller. Wilson delivered the game-tying and game-winning RBIs with a two-run single in the bottom of the 10th. He finished 2-for-5 with four RBIs. Robichaux added two hits, including a double, and drove in a pair, while Keller scored twice and doubled.
Artigues set the tone at the top of the order, reaching base three times and scoring three runs. Baton Rouge was hit by pitch six times, including three on Shelly alone. Hill earned the win out of the bullpen, working the final frame.
Victoria’s offense was powered by Vossos, who drove in four runs, and Tabor, who homered and plated two. Cotton had three doubles and scored three runs, while Diaz stole four bases. Despite outhitting the Rougarou 13-9, the Generals stranded 13 runners and committed two errors.
Gators Edge Bombers in Back-and-Forth Battle
The Gumbeaux Gators held off a late push by the Brazos Valley Bombers to secure a 6–5 win on the road Saturday night. Lembcke led the charge for Lake Charles, contributing two hits and an RBI at the plate while also earning the win on the mound with two innings of relief. Reynolds delivered two hits and two RBIs, and Reina added a pair of knocks and two driven in. Joubert's pinch-hit RBI in the ninth proved to be the game-winner.
On the bases, the Gators were aggressive, swiping five total bags—including two each from Walker and Reynolds. Despite stranding 12 runners, Lake Charles capitalized when it counted, scoring in five different innings.
For the Bombers, Motley went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base, while Daigre scored once, drove in one, and stole two more bases to push his total to 26. Springs and Coe each chipped in with RBI hits, but five Brazos Valley errors and 13 strikeouts on offense proved costly.
Garcia took the loss after surrendering the deciding run in the ninth. Despite a solid bullpen effort from Rutherford and Randall, the Bombers couldn't overcome defensive miscues and missed opportunities, dropping a close one at home.
