Game Day Recap – July 25th

Seguin River Monsters 4, Acadiana Cane Cutters 12

The Acadiana Cane Cutters dominated the Seguin River Monsters with a commanding 12-4 victory. Hornback led the Cane Cutters, going 1-for-2 with 3 RBIs, while Calloway smashed a 3-run homer in the first inning. Saunier contributed with a 2-for-4 performance, including an RBI double.

On the mound, Usey started for Acadiana but it was Guidry who earned the win, pitching 3 solid innings with only 1 run allowed. Linn and Melancon combined for 4 scoreless innings to close out the game.

For the River Monsters, Rodriguez drove in two runs, and Peavy added another RBI. Kettner struggled, giving up 7 runs in 3 innings, and Rodriguez took the loss after allowing 2 more runs in his 3 innings of work.

Victoria Generals 5, Brazos Valley Bombers 1

The Victoria Generals cruised past the Brazos Valley Bombers with a 5-1 win. Clack was impressive on the mound, allowing just 3 hits and 1 run over 7 innings, while Balmaceda pitched 2 scoreless innings to secure the victory.

Diaz and Flores each drove in key runs for the Generals, with Diaz going 1-for-3 with an RBI. Whitfield also contributed with a 2-for-4 performance and a run scored.

Despite DeYoung's RBI single, the Bombers couldn't muster enough offense. Edmonds took the loss, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) over 4.2 innings.

Baton Rouge Rougarou 10, Lake Charles Gumbeaux Gators 7 (12 Innings)

In an extra-innings thriller, the Baton Rouge Rougarou outlasted the Lake Charles Gumbeaux Gators 10-7. The Rougarou rallied for 3 runs in the 12th inning to break a 7-7 tie, highlighted by clutch hits from Wilson and Vosos. Wilson went 4-for-5 with 2 RBIs, and Vosos added 3 hits, including a triple.

Perry earned the win for Baton Rouge, pitching 3.1 scoreless innings in relief. Stallings started and pitched 4.2 innings, giving up 5 runs (4 earned).

The Gators fought hard, with Meche and Morse each driving in 2 runs, but it wasn't enough to overcome Baton Rouge's late surge. Lee took the loss after allowing 3 unearned runs in the final inning.
