Twins Drop First Game in Series Against Cane Cutters

Twins Fall to Acadiana

Youngsville, LA – June 30, 2018 – The Texarkana Twins started the game with a 1-0 deficit in the 1st inning and never completely recovered. The Cane Cutters dominated the game at the plate and the Twins could not keep up.   The Twins put one run on the board in the 3rd inning of the game from Gehrig Octavio’s walk bringing Hunter Southerland across the plate. This run tied the game up 1-1, until the Cane Cutters answered back in the bottom of the 3rd adding 5 runs to the board making the score 6-1. The 4th inning was silent for both teams and then in the 5th the Twins added one more run to the board from Tanner Sparks walk bringing Gehrig Octavio home. The Twins fell silent for the rest of the game. The Cane Cutters added to their lead in the 6th, 7th, and 8th innings making the final score 13-2.   Twins pitching had trouble settling in and between four pitchers that took the mound for the Twins only 2 hits were given up, but they gave the Cane Cutters 12 walks. The Cane Cutters took advantage of the Twins errors and maximized their walks with excellent base running.   The Twins look for redemption against the Acadiana Cane Cutters tomorrow July 1st at Fabacher Field. The team will then take a break until Friday the 6th when they travel to Victoria, Texas to face the Victoria Generals.     Summers Just Got Fun in Texarkana - for tickets and information on Texarkana's very own Minor League Baseball Experience for the 2018 season, go to www.texarkanatwins.com or call (903) 294-PLAY.
