The Texas Tomcats kicked off the second half of their inaugural season in the Texas Collegiate League with a bang as they beat the Generals 8-2 tonight on the road in Victoria. Casey Grayson pitched a great game for the Tomcats, only allowing one earned run while giving up just four hits in 7.1 innings of work to improve his record to 3-1 on the season. The Tomcats offense was red hot all night long to give Grayson all of the run support that he needed. The Tomcats were lead at the plate by Troy White who was 3-for-5 on the night with two runs scored and by Relly Mercurio who went 2-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI. Scott Pasket and Andrew Stump each had two hits apiece for the Tomcats as well. The Tomcats improve their overall record to 13-12 on the season as the Generals fall to 14-8. The Tomcats will return home to host the Alexandria Aces on Thursday night at Veterans Memorial Park in Weimar. It's also another Thirsty Thursday, which means draft beer will be $1 all night long. Game time is 7:05pm.
